“AI as a Craft You Can Master”: Book our Speaker for your next Tech Event!

Are you ready to approach AI with confidence and turn it into real value for your company? Are you planning a conference or other gathering focused on AI-driven transformation? Let’s connect to explore how our team’s perspectives can elevate your program. Our AI experts in Munich, Shanghai, and Los Angeles stand ready to contribute their insights, and they’re excited to share their expertise with you! Because after all, the real risk isn’t AI itself — it’s failing to share knowledge about this powerful tool.

Building on this idea, our Director of Interaction Design, Julia Raith, recently spoke at the Design Korea Conference about AI. Her central message: “The AI transformation is not a threat to be feared, but a craft to be learned.” As with every craft, we, the “apprentice craftspeople” seeking to become masters of our trade, will need to reflect on the philosophical dimensions of AI, maintain a clear vision, sharpen our judgment, and develop expertise with this new tool, transforming our skills into deliberate, impactful creations.

Some Key Insights from Julia´s Speech.

Artificial Intelligence has become an integral force in the creative industry, transforming workflows and expanding possibilities to the point where AI-generated and human-made work are nearly indistinguishable. Generative AI empowers designers to accelerate processes, create 3D assets without specialist backgrounds, and boost efficiency across disciplines. Yet, its rise also brings challenges: issues of confidentiality, overwhelming amounts of content, and the risk of losing individual style underscore the importance of the designer’s eye as the true creative filter. At the same time, AI is only part of a broader shift. Design is moving from 2D to 3D, from physical to digital, and toward skills that combine VR, prototyping, and coding. Ultimately, AI should be seen neither as a threat nor as a magic solution, but as a tool: powerful when used with intent, yet secondary to the vision and clarity of the designer who guides it. Find below some key considerations when using AI in your creative process.

  • AI tools can help us, but they are not a magical solution to every challange or task.
  • Designers are the emotional filter. It´s our judgment that shapes products that truly resonate.
  • AI can only pull from information it already possesses; truly new ideas still need to come from us.
  • With AI, the options are endless. Maintaining a consistent aesthetic is the real challenge.
  • Our new credo is: “Message-Filter-Learning.” Know what you want to say, filter it to align with your message, and learn from every prompt you create!
